Multifamily Investments Group announces exclusive listing for sale of former Statler Hilton & Dallas Central Library

DALLAS, TX – – Henry S. Miller Brokerage’s Multifamily Investments Group has been engaged by the property owner to market the historic Statler Hilton hotel and the adjacent Dallas Central Library.  The dual property offering is located at the SEC of St. Paul Street and Commerce Street in the heart of the Main Street District of Downtown Dallas.  The ±589,457 square foot Statler Hilton hotel and the ±131,800 square foot Dallas Central Library make up a total of ±721,000 square feet with ±80,000 square feet of surrounding land.

Built in 1956, the Statler Hilton was designed by NY architect William Tabler and hailed as the most modern hotel in the country at that time.  Tabler designed multiple locations for the Hilton Corporation and redefined the look and feel of the modern urban hotel.  This structure was once a luxurious 1,001 room hotel, housing stars such as Tony Bennett, Frank Sinatra and Elvis Presley.  In 2008, the Statler Hilton was named one of “America’s Most Endangered Places” by the National Trust for Historic Preservation, citing the importance of its history and unique design.  The potential for historical renovation and redevelopment is undeniable; some possible new uses are residential, hotel, office or retail.

Miller Multifamily Investment Group’s Executive Vice President Lew Wood brings to the assignment 35 years of real estate experience in DFW of which 10 years have been in historical renovation projects.  Wood has acquired over 4,000,000 square feet of historic warehouse and old factory buildings in Dallas’s and Memphis’s urban core.  The successful redevelopment of such properties generated more than 646 live-work loft spaces and garnered numerous design awards for cutting edge, urban core projects.  “My team was selected because of our extensive experience in historical renovation.  We are honored to be part of such a notable Downtown Dallas project,” said Wood.

Wood and his Multifamily Investments team; Andrew Doster, Darden Orand and Eric Curtis, are honored to be representing such an iconic Dallas property.  The team is actively marketing the opportunity to buyers locally and nationally.  For more information contact Lew at
